Tran Van Thao

Tran Van Thao is one of Vietnam's foremost abstract painters, despite his paintings turning out as accurate as what reality is depicted. His inspiration comes from his family and surrounding environment, as often as the inexplicable changes of the human condition. Thao's works sway from primitivist markings to rich with colour fields, and his stylistic approach ranges from brazen linear shapes to basic ingredients, all of which are components that make up vitality in his works.
