Madhvi Subrahmanian

(b., India)

Madhvi Subrahmanian has lived in three continents and in four countries. With a world where change is constant, her inspiration and alteration of work comes from the challenges of new opportunities as by the limitations brought by new circumstances and therefore expression in her works speak of incubation, growth and movement.
As Madhvi has lived in various locations, she has chosen seeds, pods and anthills as analogies to echo her migratory existence. Lately, her works carry references to roads and are best expressed by the flashing of black and white checkered markings on tamarind trees in India, and not forgetting primal with contemporary, geometric with organic and ephemeral with everlasting - to meet.
